With benefits of massage therapy that are still being discovered, A Touch of B would also like to inform you of the risks involved with massage therapy. Please see your primary physician to discuss if massage therapy would be beneficial or a risk for you.

Please see your physician if any of the following apply to you:

  • Broken bones or fractures

  • Infections

  • Taking blood thinner medication(s)

  • Burns or open wounds

  • Deep Vein Thrombosis

  • Pregnant

  • Cancer

  • Osteoporosis

  • And any other condition that may not be listed above

With massage, you may also experience soreness later after your session, sometimes the next day. Massage can highlight ignored, tense muscles within your body. It is highly recommended to STAY HYDRATED by drinking plenty of water after your massage. You may also try light stretching, guided meditation or getting rest to assist with recharging your body and lowering pain symptoms.

If you experience ongoing pain, please see your physician or, in the case of an emergency, call 9-11 or visit your nearest emergency room.
